To enlarge, reconfigure and update the existing 3 bedroom property without compromising its distinctive external appearance.
The original ground floor layout was cramped with separate, compact rooms connected by a dark narrow hallway. The timber framed conservatory provided valuable additional floorspace but the roof was in a poor state of repair.
Upstairs, the large master, second double and small third bedrooms were serviced by a dated bathroom with a poor layout
A two storey extension has been added to the South East elevation. Downstairs this adds a spacious entrance hall, study/5th bedroom, utility room and WC. On the first floor, the extension provides a 4th bedroom and en-suite to master.
The existing downstairs room layout has been completely reconfigured. The dining area and hallway have been opened up to the kitchen to create a kitchen-diner hear of the home. The formerly L-shaped living-dining room has been separated with striking floor-to-ceiling sliding glazed screen. This retains the sense of openness while creating a separate sitting area closed off from the open-plan spaces.
The conservatory gains a solid roof and is now open-plan to the kitchen diner, creating a large, sociable family living space
The internal specification was carefully considered to bring harmony and continuity throughout the scheme with a carefully curated base palette of black, oak, brass, tan leather, marble and pale grey tones.
Highlight colours and textures are introduced form of soft furnishings and statement furniture pieces add interest.
